Welcome to the Second Edition: A Message from the ABUAD Alumni Association President

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Look Who Made It to Round Two

They say the second edition of a newsletter is the most important one, mostly because it proves the first one wasn’t just a fluke.

Hurray! We survived our big debut, we didn’t accidentally crash anyone’s inbox, and we are officially back. If our maiden edition was the opening handshake, consider this the part where we sit down, skip the formal pleasantries, and get into the good stuff.

Whether you’re reading this during a quick coffee break in Lagos, on your evening commute in London, or winding down in Atlanta, welcome back to our shared space.

Keeping the Momentum Going

Our first release reminded us of something we already knew but love to see: the ABUAD family is doing incredible things globally. From courtrooms and tech hubs to creative studios and boardrooms, our collective footprint is expanding by the day. This newsletter remains our favourite way to nosy into each other’s successes, celebrate those major career wins, and remind the world exactly what an ABUAD degree represents.

But we aren’t just here to talk about the past, we are actively building the future.

Turning Plans into Real Estate (and Relationships)

Since we last spoke, the groundwork for our big initiatives has been moving forward at full speed. We are deep into the planning phases for launching localised alumni chapters in major cities. Think of these as your go-to hubs for local networking, spontaneous meetups, and direct professional support, right in your backyard.

Even more exciting: the vision for the ABUAD Alumni Building on campus is gaining real traction. This isn’t just going to be a structure of bricks and mortar, it’s going to be a permanent, physical monument to our collective journey and a base for future generations to look up to.

Your Part in the Plot

A network like ours only works if we all show up. So consider this your gentle, laid-back nudge to get involved.

Have a new job or a major milestone? Let us know.

Know a fellow graduate quietly dominating their field? Nominate them for a spotlight.

Got some time to mentor a current student? Reach out.

The foundation ABUAD gave us is rock solid, but what we build on top of it is entirely up to us.

So grab your drink, settle in, and enjoy this second edition. The ABUAD story is still being written, and luckily, we all made the contributors’ list.

Warm regards,

Barr. Timothy Atasie

President, ABUAD Alumni Association
